Kelis Takes You Inside Her Maximalist Los Angeles Pad

You’re probably familiar with Kelis Rogers, better known as simply “Kelis,” due to her standout single “Milkshake” from 2003, or maybe even her Neptunes-produced debut album Kaleidoscope. But these days, the Harlem-born artist spends the majority of her time in the kitchen, as she is now a trained chef.
In 2006, Kelis studied as a chef at Le Cordon Bleu culinary school, before launching a pop-up restaurant in London, a cookbook, and undergoing various other culinary endeavors, ultimately inspiring her 2014 album, aptly titled Food.
For the latest episode of “My Apartment” by NOWNESS, the singer-turned-chef invited director Barbara Anastacio into her maximalist Los Angeles home, filled with costumes she’s donned over the years, a homemade brass band chandelier, and a slew of eye-catching furnishings.
