Back in 2001, Kelis released her sophomore album Wanderland, though not many of us ever got to hear it – neither then nor in the 18 years since. The album was never released in North America or on streaming services due to purported issues with her label, Virgin. However, that has all changed, as Wanderland is now finally available. Give the project a listen below.
Wanderland features production from the dream team of The Neptunes’ Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo. Another of Virginia’s finest, Pusha-T, appears on the track “Popular Thug,” while Malice hops on the proceeding track “Daddy.”
On this episode of the Dropcast we are joined by Erik Ellington of Deathwish & Baker Boys and Bobby Hundreds, co-founder of The Hundreds. The two self-made titans of industry talk about the continued mainstream-ification of skateboarding and streetwear, and share some killer insight on building a label independently. Check below.
