2017 has been a busy year for Kevin Abstract. Still fresh from the release of last year's full-length American Boyfriend, Abstract has dedicated the time since to the cultural onslaught of Brockhampton, his boy-band collective that have slowly but surely initiated quite a takeover. To discuss his myriad of projects, Abstract was enlisted by none other than Spike Jonze for an immersive chat. Listen to it below.
Jonze, the director of such iconic works as Being John Malkovich and Her, brought Abstract along for his chat on the Launch Left podcast, hosted by Rain Joan of Arc Phoenix and Moon Unit Zappa. "The Kevin Abstract project kind of represents being socially awkward in high school, which I’m low key kind of tired of," he tells the filmmaker, before adding that his new music is heading in a "completely different" direction.
Brockhampton's most recent release was Saturation II, revisit the video for "Follow" below.
