This Christmas, KITH teams up with Columbia Sportswear to bring back the adorable-sounding Bugaboo jacket just as it looked back in 1986.
Originally designed as a super-functional ski jacket, the Bugaboo somehow emigrated from the slopes to the city, gaining popularity on the streets of New York in the late '80s. In many ways, this iconic jacket is the forefather of the "urban exploration" trend that's so big in streetwear, and without it, those Supreme x The North Face collaborations probably wouldn't have ever come into existence.
The KITH x Columbia Sportswear Bugaboo has all the features that the original did, such as the patented 3-in-1 Interchange system with a removable fleece lining, but it's imbued with a couple of subtle modern updates like co-branded detailing and two-way zip closures.
The jacket is available in three colorways: the original 1986 blue/pink combo, all-new slate/salmon, and a classically-KITH black/3M variant. The Bugaboo hat and gloves have been revived as well and are available for purchase.
The KITH x Columbia Sportswear Bugaboo Collection drops December 12 at KITH's Manhattan and Brooklyn flagships, but also on their online store. Jackets are priced between $250 and $300, while Bugaboo hats and gloves retail for $75 an $165 respectively.
