The market for direct-to-consumer premium basic t-shirts is crowding quickly in 2015 and for good reason: the middle of the high and low premium wear space is wide open for those who can offer quality cotton shirting made from the best cottons on earth. The latest entry into the premium basic wear world is KOTN, a Toronto-based firm that delivers single and three-packs of Egyptian cotton shirts directly to your home from Egypt. Founded by three friends — Rami Helali, Mackenzie Yeates and Benjamin Sehl — KOTN works with local farmers in Egypt and gives back to them and their communities with subsidies and scholarship grants for Cairo’s agricultural university.

KOTN‘s shirting certainly stands up to its claim of delivering the “softest tees you’ll ever touch.” Each shirt is made using extra long strand Egyptian cotton that gives each shirt a soft hand. On wear, KOTN shirts are a slimmer fit than other options in the space, but they certainly a safe bet for those who prefer Egyptian cotton to Peruvian Pima, which is a decision best left to the shopper.

Three cuts of KOTN shirts are currently available: the crew, scoop and v-neck in black and white colors at $35 for a single shirt or $75 for a three-pack; the three pack is the best bang for your buck. We’re told a women’s collection is forthcoming in weeks.
