In your opinion, who are the biggest music and fashion icons?

Beyoncé is one of the biggest music icons. She’s been in the game for so long, and she hasn’t lost that “wow” factor. She could drop an album tomorrow and the world would lose their minds.

As for biggest fashion icon, I’d say my grandma Lu. She’s the epitome of style and class. She’s taught me that its not about what you wear, but how you wear it.

Describe your current style

I wear what makes me feel comfortable. I like mixing my vintage pieces with the more modern items in my closet. If I’m going to an audition or castings, I’m dressed like I want to book that gig.

How do you relax?

I’ll get the incense burning, make some tea, put on Soulection radio and write to beats. I live right by the water, so sometimes I’ll go for a walk and sit and watch the sunset. So peaceful.

What do you want to achieve in the next five years?

First, headline a tour that takes me all over the world, and perform at music festivals and conferences. One day I want to have my own company or organization, something that allows me to give back to my community. I’d also love to have a leading role in a movie or TV series. Most importantly maintain a healthy body and mind.

Explain your new song and video

“2 Me” is a vibe. Everyone will relate to the song in a different way. For me, its expressing that feeling of “damn I love you, but you make me crazy.” Sometimes we lose ourselves in relationships, and forget that the most important relationship we have is with ourself.

My good friend Soof and I linked up to shoot “2 Me.” The video visually illustrates how the character finds a peace of mind: where she is versus where she wants to be, physically and mentally. I live in the city and sometimes it’s hard to find balance. Nature is where I go to reflect and charge up, where I find my peace of mind.

What is your most treasured article of clothing?

A scarf that was passed down to me from my grandma, Hodge. She was my biggest fan. Whenever I wear it, I feel love.

Sweet or savory?

Sweet. I have the biggest sweet tooth!

What is your biggest achievement?

Thus far, it would be releasing my song “2 Me.” I believe it’s a great representation of how I’ve grown as a singer and songwriter, and it’s something I’m very proud of. To spend the time, to invest in myself, and to see the result of all my years of hard work paying off is so rewarding. I can’t wait to share more music with you!
