It's been nearly two years since Lil Uzi Vert last released an album, so it should come as no surprise that his new GQ story is centered around something else entirely: his style. Uzi's Instagram account has become a bastion of great fit pics, and he's become so passionate about the way he dresses he says it trumps his music. "Honestly, in my heart, I think I do this better than music,” he said. "'Cause the music shit is effortless. I actually take my time with this."

He took it a step further, saying, "I like making music, and I like making people happy, but the music is whatever, bro. I really do it just to make my family happy. Like, it's just something for my family to talk about."

Virgil Abloh also heaped on the praise: "Lil Uzi isn't even human. He is another level of a creative being. To me he is an Impressionist painter replacing pigments with ready-made brands and clothes."

Uzi explained his penchant for women's clothing and said he began wearing his mom's skinny jeans because they fit his small frame. "The women's section is waaaay better than the men's section," he said. "Always. The women's section, you usually don't have to get things tailored. It's usually just on point."

The writer of the story observed an estimation $500,000 worth of clothing in Uzi's apartment, and the story is full of nuggets of his selections. Check out the story in full here.
