After just a few months, Lil Yachty has gone from being a buzzy Internet fixture to a bonafide mainstream star. In light of all his success, the red-headed rapper has taken some time to reflect on his journey to the top via a whimsical, The FADER-produced short film, titled "Keep Sailing."

Directed by Canadian artist Petra Collins, the docu-musical provides a glimpse into Yachty's life while cruising around his hometown in Atlanta, complete with surreal reenactments, boat trips and interviews with his mom, his uncle Darnell Boat, his go-to producers Burberry Perry and Earl, and all his "Sailing Team" homies.

“I was probably the popularest kind on campus, but in the worst way. I was a laughingstock. I was a joke because of my hair. Being in college really let me know I don’t want to live a regular life. I want to be rich, I want to be a celebrity, I want to be famous. I want to have this hair and people don’t laugh, they get excited.”

Lil Yachty, 'Keep Sailing'

In addition to the video, Yachty has graced fans with a followup to his debut mixtape, Lil Boat, with a new project, dubbed Summer Songs 2.
