Lizzo made her debut on the iconic sketch show Saturday Night Live this weekend, performing her hit songs “Truth Hurts” and “Good as Hell.” For her first show-stopping performance, the singer wore a custom Dapper Dan design and was assisted by an all-black dance crew.
The episode was hosted by SNL veteran Eddie Murphy. Lizzo kicked things off with a performance of her huge hit “Truth Hurts,” rocking a fabulous monogrammed Gucci trench-dress with matching boots in Dapper Dan’s signature lavish aesthetic. Not only that, but Lizzo’s all-black and all-female band and dance crew also repped the African-American designer in custom Gucci fits. Check out their stunning performance below.
While we knew Lizzo would bring the vocals, fans cannot get over the singer’s glamorous tribute to legendary black designer Dapper Dan and the performance’s celebration of women of color. Many took to Twitter to gush over Lizzo’s empowering SNL debut, check out some of the best reactions below.
