Lonzo Ball and Big Baller Brand made their debut appearance at Madison Square Garden last night as Ball's LA Lakers took on Kristaps Porziņģis and the New York Knicks.
Prior to game time, however, Lonzo showed up to the arena wearing a somewhat suspect hoodie mocking legendary NY rapper Nas. The top featured a photoshopped image of Lonzo's face replacing Nas' from the infamous Illmatic album cover.
As could be expected, the trolling raised eyebrows, while Ball's choice of attire was not necessarily surprising considering a few months ago he took shots at Nas when he insisted, "Don't nobody listen to Nas anymore," then going on to add, "Real hip-hop is Migos and Future."
Nonetheless, Lonzo and the Lakers ended up losing to the Knicks 113 to 109 in overtime last night. Nas ultimately had the last laugh, taking to Instagram after the win to post an image of the Knicks logo with caption "Great Win Knicks!"
Nas and the Knicks weren't the only ones not feeling Ball's hoodie, as fans took to Twitter to express their disapproval.
Lonzo may be too young and too unaware of how lethal Nas is on a diss track. Maybe "Ether" part two is needed to humble the 20-year old rookie, but Big Baller Brand is unpredictable and a diss track could potentially be thrown back. As we've already seen, possibilities with the BBB family are endless.
In other news, Kelly Oubre Jr. wore the Nike x Supreme shooting sleeve last night and flexed on the entire league.
