Lorde is still hard at work putting the finishing touches on her highly-anticipated sophomore album Melodrama, but it seems like she may need to find room for an extra song. The singer stopped by BBC Radio 1 for an interview that ended up producing what may be the most heartfelt track of her career: an alternate version of her new single "Green Light" titled "Creme Egg." Watch her sing it above.
Lol jk. Apparently Lorde has an extreme affinity for the delightful chocolate treat, and host Nick Grimshaw not only fed her a supply of creme eggs but prepared a parody version of "Green Light" for the two to create a spontaneous duet. It really speaks to the song's emotional power that it sounds just as legitimate for her to be "waiting for that creme egg" than the green light of the initial version.
Lorde's Melodrama is out on June 16. Revisit the official music video for "Green Light" below.
