Six years after Larry Clark released Marfa Girl, the famed Kids director is back with an unexpected sequel.

Simply called Marfa Girl 2, the story picks up two years after the original and follows the cast as they come to terms with a tragedy that further complicates their disaffected lives. Stars Adam Mediano, Drake Burnette, Mercedes Maxwell, Jonathan Velasquez, Indigo Rael, and Jeremy St. James all reprise their roles for the film.

Described as "a drug-and-sex infused drama,"Marfa Girl 2 is Clark's first-ever sequel. Speaking to IndieWire, Clark explained why he made his first foray into a franchise: “After making Marfa Girl, my fans inundated me with requests for a follow-up — so I made it. I hope they enjoy it.”

Marfa Girl 2 will be distributed by Breaking Glass Pictures. It will premiere November 2 at NYC's Cinema Village and LA's Laemmle Glendale. Watch the trailer above.
