After debuting its all-new 710 horsepower 720S supercar, British automotive company McLaren has unveiled the 570S Spider, dubbed as the "most attainable" McLaren Spider ever that brings supercar attributes such as carbon-fibre construction, a mid-engined layout and extreme performance in a luxury sports convertible.

Noted as the third body style in McLaren’s Sport series portfolio, which includes the 570S Coupe and the 570GT -- this new 570S is defined by a retractable two-piece roof that is constructed of lightweight composite panels and creates a purposeful, sleek appearance overall. The hardtop roof takes up to 15 seconds to open or close and can be engaged at vehicle speeds of up to 25 mph.

Boasting a carbon fibre MonoCell II chassis that provide the same thrilling dynamic performance in the 570S Coupe, the 570S Spider is equipped with a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that gallops up to 562-horsepower, while jumping from 0–60 mph in 3.1 seconds with a top speed of 204 mph. Those acceleration specs are a fraction slower than the 675LT Spider, but identical to the 570S Coupe.

Essentially powerful and lighter than comparable convertibles, with an impressive power-to-weight ratio of 419PS-per-tonne -- the 570S Spider is limited to only 400 units and offered in color choices of Curacao Blue, Vega Blue and Sicilian Yellow for approximately $210,000 USD.

Available to order now at McLaren retailers worldwide, the 570S Spider will make its public debut on Thursday, June 29 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex, UK, and the first cars are scheduled to be delivered to customers in August.
