Watch Miguel’s Cover of Pussy Riot’s “Make America Great Again”

R&B singer-songwriter Miguel recently shared an unexpected cover of a Pussy Riot song. In a new clip shared to Twitter on Thursday, the singer revealed a self-professed “shitty emo cover” of the controversial Russian band’s song “Make America Great Again.”

The Pussy Riot cover is Miguel’s latest in his #whwcover series where he shares a cappella takes on different artists’ songs. “You gotta hear the actual song, it’s legit a jam,” Miguel raved about the anti-Trump anthem.

“Make America Great Again” is from Pussy Riot’s 2016 xxx EP from 2016. Back in October, the band released a music video for the track, imagining the first few days of a Trump presidency.

Miguel previously covered SZA’s “The Weekend” from her debut album Ctrl. The singer’s most recent full-length was Wildheart from 2015.
