Those who've been paying attention should already be well aware that we're dropping a collaborative sneaker with the Japanese performance label, Mizuno, later this month. Late last week we gave the first official look at the Mizuno x Highsnobiety Wave Rider Phoenix and just a couple of days ago we revealed drop dates, purchasing locations, and a retrofuturist lookbook that travels from one era to another.

Now, following teasers on Facebook and in the lookbook, the story continues as we reveal the project's own exclusive fashion film. The film, which will be shown during the shoe's launch at Gallery Weekend Berlin, takes place in a crossover world that glitches between past and future, taking the shoe from one era to the next and alluding to its rich history and developing future.

The concept behind the sneaker itself, as the name suggests, is rebirth and rejuvenation, reflecting Mizuno's current transitionary period as a brand. Traditionally focused on athletic garments and equipment, the label has now turned its expert hand to more style-focused silhouettes that fit into its Sportstyle category. Having launched the Wave Rider 1 OG and Wave Rider 1 No Borders already this year, Highsnobiety now plays a part in this unique and ongoing story.

The Mizuno x Highsnobiety Wave Rider Phoenix is available from April 28 via Highsnobiety's online store and in-store at mita sneakers and Beams. On May 12, the silhouette drops at additional select Mizuno retailers. Check out the video above and follow Mizuno on Instagram for all the latest.
