MOYNAT is the oldest French trunk-maker, known worldwide for its traditional know-how in handcrafted, made-to-order luggage and travel goods. The house first became famous for its technical innovations, making its trunks lighter and waterproof; notable improvements that carry over into most high-end luggage on the market today. To showcase their impressive archive, MOYNAT recently held their “Malles et Nouveautés” presentation in Paris, bringing together collector’s items from the brand’s rich history and pairing them with some of the company’s latest creations – a rare opportunity even for the brand’s most obsessed fans.
The occasion made for a unique experience, one that allowed visitors to draw comparisons between items they may have never known existed with some all-time favorites. The brand’s design ethos and overall aesthetic — despite dating back to 1849 — has for the most part remained unchanged. Even though MOYNAT remains grounded in its roots, the brand has managed to evolve just enough to please both its younger, more eager fans (see: Pharrell collab) as well as its loyal, original followers.
