Nicki Minaj has taken to social media today to announce that she is retiring from music. News arrives as Minaj confirmed in July that a new album was on the way.

Before addressing her fans, Nicki touched on wanting to have a family in her retirement tweet. "I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now," she said. "To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, ❌ in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. ✅ Love you for LIFE." I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. Minaj seems to have found happiness in her relationship with Kenneth Petty. The two began dating in December of last year and have since reportedly obtained a marriage license.

During her approximately 15-year career, Minaj released four studio albums and earned four top-five entries on the Billboard Hot 100 as a lead artist, while also being nominated for 10 Grammy awards. She is widely regarded as one of the most influential female rappers of all time.
