In an interesting turn of events, Nike Store has announced today that they are cancelling the online releases of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG "Chicago," as well as the Air Jordan 1 Pinnacle. The official statement mentions the use of bots as the main issue at hand.

"Nike is committed to creating the most premium experiences for our consumers online. Bots have been compromising the experience around specific products. We’re working hard to make sure real consumers are the ones getting access."

While the Air Jordan 1 Pinnacle launch is being canceled only in North America, the launch of the Air Jordan I High OG Varsity Red is being canceled in North America and also mainland China. Both sneakers will be available through Nike stores and select retailers though.

Apologies. We’re canceling the online launches of the AJ 1 Pinnacle & the AJ 1 High on 5/30. Learn more here: http://t.co/Be1cTq4dvX — Nike.com (@nikestore) May 29, 2015
