Editor’s Notes: The Swoosh officially unveiled the Nike VaporFly Elite Flyprint 3D last April for the 2018 London Marathon and it’s dubbed as the fastest 3D-printed sneaker ever, developed in collaboration with world renowned Kenyan marathoner, Eliud Kipchoge.
With the 2019 Tokyo Marathon soon approaching, (March 3), Nike Harajuku has revealed details on the arrival of a new colorway, dominated by tones of purple and black. The silhouette is extremely limited and buyers will have a chance to acquire, only if they have been selected via a raffle. The key details, however, are that buyers must be able to prove that they are indeed marathon runners.
According to Nike Japan’s website, the potential buyers who are chosen must be able to show proof that they have ran a full marathon, about 26 miles, in three hours or less, sometime after the conclusion of the Tokyo Marathon. Interestingly, Nike Japan did not reveal exactly how they will extract the information needed. However, once the rules have been met, customers will be given a chance to purchase the sneakers.
Stay tuned for more details and confirmation.
