Japanese designer Daisuke Kitagawa takes an established design – hinged 360 degree movement lamps – and removes the displeasing visible joints for a simple but effective update on a classic. The monochrome “Nod” series features a moveable slit in each model which hides the inner workings and importantly allows light to be directed from any angle; giving the consumer full control over both the intensity and direction of the beam as well as the aesthetic of the lamp itself. The clean design allows for seamless integration into both the private and public spaces, making it perfect for the home or workplace and embodying Kitagawa’s goal of creating a system that could respond to multiple environments.
