Odell Beckham Jr., former New York Giant wide receiver, returned to NYC’s Metlife stadium for the first time since being traded to the Cleveland Browns in the offseason. Wanting to make a big statement, he wore not one, but two Player Edition Nike cleats in New York.

The first was a pair of “Fresh Prince” Friends and Family Nike Air Jordan 5-inspired cleats, featuring a gold upper with purple and teal detailing on the sock liner and pull tabs, as well as the mini Swoosh on the toe. Beckham Jr. wore these in the pre-game warm ups in addition to a $2.2 million Richard Mille 56-02 Tourbillon Sapphire watch.

The second pair was a reinterpretation of the Shattered Backboard Nike Air Jordan 1. An orange heel and toe box gave way to a white side panel and black detailing on the mudguard, mini Swoosh, and Uptempo-inspired OBJ detailing on the sides of the shoe. This is the pair Beckham Jr. actually wore in-game.

Both pairs were shared on social media by ESPN’s Nick DePaula ahead of the Cleveland Browns’ game against the New York Jets. The Cleveland Browns won 23-3, with Beckham Jr. racking up 161 yards on six catches, as well as one touchdown.

Both cleats are part of an ongoing effort by OBJ and Nike to showcase the player’s favorite Nike shoes through custom colorways.
