The Lamborghini Countach is one of – if not the – world's most iconic supercar. Its unmistakable angular lines, wedge-like silhouette, pop-up headlights and scissor doors are the stuff of pure childhood dreams, and its image became a staple of bedroom walls across the world throughout the late 1970s and ’80s. These days they're increasingly hard to come by, but in August one lucky person will get the chance to be a kid all over again as an extremely rare Series 1 Countach is up for auction via RM Auctions.

For those who don't know, only 50 Countach "Series 1" models were ever made – each one fitted with lowered suspension, Stewart Warner gauges and 1.8 inch carburetors – and this particular car comes without the optional spoiler, increasing its top speed by a full 10 mph. If you'd like to get in the running to become the lucky owner of this legendary piece of motoring history, you can register for the auction here. If you're happy just dreaming, however, you can find all the car porn you could ever ask for here.
