The Academy Awards 2019 are over and while there’s a lot to digest in the aftermath — from celebrating Olivia Coleman’s Best Actress win, debating Green Book as Best Picture, to applauding Roma‘s success — we’re here to bring you the crème de la crème from the red carpet.

Velvet was the fabric of choice for many of this year’s ’fits: Michael B. Jordan, Chris Evans, and Stephan James were among the masses who chose to level up their outfits with a little lustrous sheen. Billy Porter stole the show in tuxedo-gown — a look that will no doubt go down in Oscar’s history — while Pharrell Williams’ turned up in an all camo look, and Mahershala Ali rocked a rabbit-fur beanie.

Check out all the best, the meh, and the most WTF red carpet looks from the Oscars 2019 below.

Not only did Mahershala Ali take home an Oscar this Sunday, but he was also one of the best dressed on the red carpet, all thanks to a $350 hat by Gigi Burris and a brocade three-piece suit from Ermenegildo Zegna XXX.

Not every man can pull off a velour, salmon pink Fendi suit with matching scrunchie, and the verdict is out on whether Momoa is one of them.

Stephan James

Part festive, part cruise ship, Stephan James’s custom ETRO tux and white Giuseppe Zanotti boots certainly blend into the Oscars red carpet.
