The people of Toronto, Canada just got a gift they didn't even know they needed: a two-tower luxury apartment complex designed, in part, by Pharrell Williams.
Taking to Instagram, the entrepreneur announced the project, which he worked on alongside Toronto developers Reserve Properties and Westdale Properties, architects IBI Group, and exterior and interior designers U31. The project itself is called Untitled, watch Pharrell discuss it below.
In a separate video announcement, dezeen reports, Pharrell explained the concept of Untitled further. "To live your life untitled means not having to live up to something or perform beyond a standard. For the standard to literally just be this beautiful matrix that allows people to create their own world."
Moving on to discuss his experience of translating ideas to architectural structures, he said, "Everyone at the table had a collective willingness to be open, to be pushed, to be prodded and poked, to get to that uncomfortable place of question mark, and to find out what was on the other side. The result is untitled and I’m very grateful and appreciative to have been a part of the process."
There will be 750 residential units inside the two towers, which are connected by a podium. The complex will likely open next year, in 2020.
This isn't the first time that Pharrell has worked on an architecture project. Previously he has teamed up with Oppenheim Architecture + Design. It is, however, the first time he's worked on a multi-residential development.
