In a video on its YouTube channel, Disney’s Pixar has provided a glimpse into what goes into making the backdrops and locations featured in some of its most iconic animated films.

Each of its films are set in locations inspired by real places – some more obvious than others – and the attention to detail when making the animated locations as life-like as possible is remarkable.

Whether it’s a trip to Venezuela to research the Paradise Falls later seen in Pixar’s heralded UP, or the vibrant Scottish colors reimagined in Brave, Pixar and its production engineers go to great lengths to ensure ultimate authenticity.
