Playboy has just announced its Playmate of the Year for 2018, Bronx native, Nina Daniele. Nina made her debut as the April Playmate of the Month in Playboy‘s March/April 2017 issue, the same time the publication reintroduced nudity.

Daniele was in turn captured by photographer Jennifer Stenglein for an 11-page Playmate of the Year spread, which also marks the return of Playboy‘s iconic Femlin character, created by founder Hugh Hefner and illustrated by Leroy Neiman. The Femlin was first introduced in May of 1963.

Alongside the shoot, Playboy also tapped December 1958 Playmate and fellow Bronx native Joyce Nizzari to interview Nina.

“It means so much to me – to not only be seen in my most vulnerable state, but to also be presented, in words, for who I am,” says Daniele. “That’s important to Playboy: how my brain works, how my heart works. Through ‘Playboy’ I was able to talk about how it feels to be a woman in today’s society.”

Just last month ‘Playboy’ deactivated its Facebook page as a part of the #DeleteFacebook movement.
