It’s a well-known fact that serious coffee heads will go to almost any length to achieve the so-called “perfect cup,” but now there’s a device that claims to strip away the hassle and effort of your daily morning ritual. The Pour-Over, from upstart home tech company Poppy, is a smart coffee filter machine that not only grinds, filters and pours you a grade-A cup at the push of a button, but will also monitor your bean stocks and order refills direct to your door.

Using a special burr grinder the flavorsome essential oils of the coffee beans are preserved in the grind, before being brewed with water passed through a charcoal purifier and poured into a double-walled conical carafe at ideal drinking temperature, ready for you each morning. The Pour-Over also makes use of the Wink smartphone app and integrates with Amazon, meaning it will sense when the coffee beans in the hopper are running low and send you a notification asking if you’d like to purchase more. All that housed in a smart mix of dark wood, glass and brushed copper, this is surely one of the swankiest ways to source your caffeine hit around.

While not yet officially on the market, you can visit the Poppy website and join their mailing list to be updated as soon as it’s available.
