To celebrate Porsche’s 70th anniversary, Porsche Design has developed an exclusive watch, the 1919 Datetimer 70Y Sports Car — Limited Edition.

The timepiece pays tribute to the spirit of Porsche, referencing the iconic 1948 Porsche 356, the carmaker’s first production model and the predecessor of the classic 911.

The 42mm watch combines design elements and special characteristics from the vintage car’s dashboard, reinterpreted for the wrist. Boasting a titanium case with a black titanium carbide coating, resulting in a matte, almost stealth aesthetic, the timepiece houses automatic Swiss movement with a 38-hour power reserve, the brand’s Icon rotor, and is water resistant up to 100 meters.

To further pay tribute to Porsche on its anniversary, the dial is decorated with the silhouette of a Porsche 356 and the wording “1948” and includes the characteristic tachometer rings used on the dashboard of the 356. The case back is finished off by a special “70” logo with the years 1948 and 2018 displayed within. The timepiece also features an integrated black calfskin strap with matching black stitching and black folding clasp.

Priced at $3,248 USD, the limited edition timepiece is packaged in a custom box with a special limitation badge, and will be available at Porsche Design stores, Porsche Centers, specialty retailers, and online from mid-June.
