Apparently Dragon Ball’s Goku is a massive Paris Saint-Germain fan. Ahead of the French side’s match against rivals Marseille this past weekend, PSG fans presented a Goku-themed banner that featured the iconic anime character alongside six Dragon Balls.

While the banner itself was impressive in detail, there was a deeper meaning to the extravagant showing on Sunday.

Following the 3-0 win against Marseille, PSG is now 14 points clear at the top of Ligue 1 and closing in on the club’s seventh French league title. There are seven Dragon Balls across the anime universe and the six Dragon Balls showed the years denoting when PSG previously won the league.

With each Dragon Ball symbolizing a league title, PSG is now looking for its seventh. Considering the gap between the club and its rivals, it seems certain that the club will add a seventh “Dragon Ball” to its collection by the end of the season.

Twitter fell in love with the pre-match banner, which was to be expected. Watch the entire unveiling above and then check out some of the reactions below.

While some were impressed by the banner, there are others that aren’t happy with the way PSG is run. Read more on why you might want to think twice about copping a PSG jersey here.
