Model: Thunder Spectra
Key Features: The sneaker’s chunky but athletic shape and bold ‘90s-esque color pops fuse sporty elements with a fashion-forward aesthetic. Giving the shoe its heavyset appearance, a molded TPU midsole sits beneath a premium mesh and nubuck upper. A black PUMA formstrip along the side provides subtle branding amidst the yellow, blue, red, and grey panels.
Release Date: Following the original launch on April 28, the now widely popular sneakers are set to be re-stocking on May 25, 2018.
Buy: PUMA online, as well as physical PUMA retailers, Foot Locker, Shoe Palace and other select retailers to be announced shortly.
Editor’s Notes: Since images leaked online back in February 2018, PUMA’s Thunder Spectra, the brand’s entrant into the chunky sneaker market, has dominated headlines and been highly-anticipated amid endorsements from celebrities, influencers, and major sneaker retailers.
Now, finally, we are blessed with a re-stock of the Thunder Spectra. Reported to drop on Friday, May 25, the chunky sneaker comes in at a very affordable $120. Considering it’s been touted as the wallet-friendly competitor to the likes of Gucci, Balenciaga, and other high-end chunky sneakers, the price point and the sneaker’s already incredibly popular design could be indicative of a successful future.
In addition, the model pays homage to PUMA’s collaborations with the late Alexander McQueen, as well as old-school ’90s running silhouettes.
