Ralph Lauren pays homage to its faux employee Rachel Green to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Friends. Played by Jennifer Aniston, Rachel worked at the iconic fashion house for five TV show years. Ralph himself even played along making a cameo appearance in one episode standing next to Aniston in a hilariously awkward elevator scene.
To celebrate the sitcoms anniversary and it’s inclusion, Ralph Lauren has partnered with Warner Bros. Consumer Products to create a curated Wear-to-Work collection based on the Rachel Green character. Wool suits, turtlenecks, black leather trousers, suede mini skirts, velvet jackets included in the collection are very reminiscent of her on-show style. Traditional workwear staples are also well represented with the addition of pin-striped suits, crested blazers, and equestrian-inspired accessories.
On September 27, the company will be opening up a Rachel Green experience that includes a re-creation of the character’s office and the famous Central Perk setting in the shows title scene. Every two weeks, these installations will travel to a different Bloomingdale’s location including White Plains, N.Y., Bergen County, N.J., Aventura, Fla., and the soon-to-open Norwalk, Conn., store.
The collection will be available globally in select Ralph Lauren retail stores and on RalphLauren.com beginning Sept. 18. Watch Ralph’s famous cameo on Friends below.
