This month Forbes shares its rankings for the highest-earning stand-up comedians for 2019. Kevin Hart raked in $59 million between June 1, 2018 and June 1, 2019 to secure the number one spot for the second time.
Hart's impressive earnings over the past year can be attributed to sponsorship deals with brands like Mountain Dew and Chase, in addition to a global stadium tour. He also released a Netflix special.
Forbes goes on to point out that this year's highest-earning stand-up comedians brought in $272 million as a group, down $20 million from 2018. The drop-off could be due to somewhat quiet years from some of comedy's biggest names like Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock.
Falling in line behind Kevin Hart this year are Jerry Seinfeld, who earned $41 million, Jim Gaffigan and his $30 million, Trevor Noah ($28 million), and Sebastian Maniscalco ($26 million) who round out the top five. Amy Schumer is the only woman to make this year's list.
