Everyone needs a coffee break. For some, that means actually drinking something laden with caffeine to push you through to the end of the day. For others, that break has little to do with java, and much more to do with a nice distraction from whatever is on your plate that particular day.
Whether it be an escape from schoolwork, presentations, numbers that need crunching, or an actual passion project, that small respite can pay actual dividends. According to the Scientific American, “Downtime replenishes the brain’s stores of attention and motivation, encourages productivity and creativity, and is essential to both achieve our highest levels of performance and simply form stable memories in everyday life.”
Our new recurring segment, Coffee Break, aims to give you just that. Small — albeit worthwhile slices of video content from the web — that should give you exactly what you need when you need to focus on something other than the task at hand.
It might be arguable whether Roger Moore is the best actor to have portrayed James Bond, but it is without a doubt that he had the campiest and most laughable scenes in the franchise. After all, he played Bond from 1973–85, with writers updating the character from Sean Connery’s era to accommodate the contemporary and excessive ’70s. There is certainly no shortage of laughable and entertaining moments in the Bond canon, but it’s fair to say a good majority of them appear during Moore’s reign.
Which is why to honor the veteran actor, who passed away this week, we’ve compiled a Coffee Break of a different kind – a roundup of his best chase sequences to offer you a bit of comedic relief. There’s no ranking at play here and we’ve only included the few best in our opinion; there’s a lot more where this came from – fight scenes, love scenes, and one-liners in general were Moore’s forté. He also has nine Bond movies worth of content, so by all means dig into the archive.
