Rolex’s very first GMT-Master from 1955 featured red-and-blue detailing on the bezel and was affectionately nicknamed the “Pepsi” edition, which was followed by a “Coke” GMT-Master II in 1983.
Now for 2019, the “Pepsi” GMT-Master II returns as an homage to the original design from 64 years ago. The watch is crafted using Rolex’s proprietary 18 ct gold alloy, with a distinctive blue dial and contrasting white features, complete with an Oyster bracelet and Oysterlock folding clasp. Only a month ago, Hodinkee also imagined what a “Sprite” edition could look like, however this still remains just a mock-up.
Available for a grand total of $37, 000 USD, the watch is being offered via Rolex.com.
