Editor’s Notes: Ronnie Fieg and ASICS go together like peanut butter and jelly. Having been at the forefront of the retro runner craze in the late ’00s and early 2010s, KITH founder Fieg has shared a full look at the collaboration with ASICS he teased last week, and announced it will be available this coming Friday, July 19.

This time, the designer will be working on the iconic Japanese sportswear brand’s recently relaunched GEL-Kayano 5 OG. The project is apparently dubbed “Oasis,” as shared by Fieg himself on Instagram. Originally released in 1999, the GEL-Kayano 5 was the fifth iteration of lead sneaker designer Toshikazu Kayano’s complete reimagining of ASICS’ GEL running technology in sneaker form.

Fieg’s original (and since-deleted) Instagram post only gave us a look at the heel and sides of the shoe, but the latest shots give us a full profile view. His signature color-blocking is immediately evident. A white mesh base is combined with mixed-material overlays and pastel hues on the outsole, midsole, side stripes, sock liner, and tongue. ASICS and Fieg branding can be seen on both heels.

In addition to the sneaker, KITH will be releasing a complementary capsule collection that includes T-shirts, shorts, and bucket hats in the same hues found on the sneaker.

The Oasis collection, including the ASICS GEL-Kayano 5, will be released this Friday, July 19 at all KITH locations and Kith.com at 11am EST.
