Following our earlier look at a multi-colored residence, we move to a more subdued yet equally impressive venture in Philadelphia. As with our earlier property, the ROOST apartment hotel is aimed at those planning a longer stay. Located in midtown's historic '20s Charles S.W. Packard Building, 27 fully-furnished, fully-equipped apartments contain just about everything you could need for an extended trip, from a top spec kitchen to Apple TV. Beyond the rooms, you'll find a rooftop terrace, a lending library and a handy bike share service should you wish to actually leave the building.
For us however, the real draw is the decor. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects, the interiors feature a perfect mix of midcentury and contemporary; dark wood cabinets, modernist lighting, persian rugs and brass fittings pretty much ticking all of our design boxes. "ROOST’s new generation of apartment hotels are as soulful as they are original." Should you find yourself in the Philadelphia area, book a stay over at the website
