Best known for his Obey Giant series/clothing line and Hope poster, which became a fixture during Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, Obey founder Shepard Fairey has now readied his first-ever art exhibition in Hong Kong.

Taking its name from an image he created in 2004, Fairey’s exhibition encompasses the full trajectory of his career so far and explores “power and responsibility, contemplating the widespread abuse by positions of authority, and the response this exploitation solicits.” Independent of the exhibition, Fairey has also been busy working hard on four public murals in various locations across the Kowloon Sprawl.
