While you might not be familiar with SHIRT as a rapper, as a savvy Highsnobiety reader you may have come across his clever Nike x adidas bootleg merch, which we spoke to him about back in 2016. Now, we have the exclusive on a music video for "Woman Is God" off his recently-released debut album Pure Beauty.

“Woman Is God” was filmed by the rapper and friends in Freetown, Sierra Leone and various surrounding provinces this past year. SHIRT spent ten days in the region exploring, having conversations, and witnessing first hand the complexities and perseverance of its people and land. He describes the experience as being the most beautiful and heartbreaking of his life. Stories told about the daily struggles for food and water, of hiding for your life from militant rebel forces, of friends and loved ones falling ill, unimaginable kindness, resilience, and rich history have inspired this video, which you can check out above.

SHIRT's debut album Pure Beauty is out now. Stream it below, and buy it right here.
