Now here's how you buy them.
Snapchat has revealed how and where it will sell its new Spectacles to the public: through these kitschy and, alright we'll say it, cute, vending machines called “Snapbots.”
The brightly colored dispensaries are set to appear all around the U.S., the first of which will appear in Venice Beach, California. Snap, Snapchat's parent company, has said these bots are currently the only way members of the public can purchase the glasses, and that they will cost $129.99.
The glasses allow users to record video from their own perspective. A single button begins recording the footage through a wide-angle 115-degree lens, which imitates a person’s natural field of vision to create a circular video.
Prospective buyers will be able to virtually try on the Spectacles directly at the machine, and will be able to choose from four different colors. Each pair comes with a charging case, a charging cable and a cleaning cloth.
A map on Snap's website shows where the Snapbots are located, and each new machine will appear on the map 24 hours before it arrives. A special Spectacles-themed geofilter will also be available inside the app when a bot is nearby your location.
