Where form meets function

On Friday, SpaceX launched its latest Falcon 9 rocket into orbit from Vandenburg Air Base in Southern California at around 5:30 p.m. PST.

The launch caused a massive twilight effect as the rocket’s plumes were reflected by the sun during sunset. These ”jaw-dropping views” made for great social media footage and even caused some people to freak out, with authorities having to confirm that it was “just” SpaceX’s latest rocket launch.

The incident followed news that the U.N. had in fact placed sanctions on North Korea for a November 29 missile test; possibly explaining the reason for widespread confusion and panic.

Elon Musk tweeted a video with the sarcastic caption: “Nuclear alien UFO from North Korea” upon the rocket’s successful launch.

Despite spacearchive.info predicted the visibility of the launch, Twitter, as it does, exploded with reactions.
