Today Sterling Ruby launches his third S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. collection, which includes a range of cast metal tools and accessories. The delivery also consists of box purses first seen during S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA.’s runway debut.
The assortment of tools — ranging from an axe and crowbar to a hammer, yarn, and knitting needles — reverts back to Ruby’s upbringing. An ode to utility, the accessories are cast in aluminum and designed in custom silhouettes, with items like a bleach bottle reimagined as wearable artifacts. Each piece is cast, polished, and stamped to order by Sterling Ruby Studio, arriving in editions of ten and engraved with the studio’s logo.
Ruby’s new S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. ready-to-wear garments, meanwhile, are offered in both fluorescent and earthy colors. An eye-catching plaid pattern is showcased on a dress with billowing sleeves as well as a button-down and matching pants, and a billowed-sleeve blouse. Other styles include a knitted cardigan in addition to a hand-dyed barn coat, long-sleeved button-down shirt, and pants.
The third delivery of S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. is currently available online and at The Broken Arm in Paris.
