At the tail end of last year, the Pantone Color Institute announced its Color of the Year for 2017. Since the year 2000, the institute has nominated a shade that it believes reflects the current cultural climate, and the winning hue for 2017 was swatch 15-0343, otherwise known as Greenery.
Pantone's Vice President, Laurie Pressman, said the hue was chosen as a symbol of “unity and community—connecting to oneself and others and a higher purpose, nature.” Pretty apt when you consider the awful state the world is in at the minute.
