Millie Bobby Brown will reportedly return to reprise her role as Eleven in Stranger Things season two.
Although a Netflix representative has declined to comment, sources close to the project have confirmed to TVLine that the series’ breakout star, Millie Bobby Brown, will be back as Eleven in season two — despite meeting an uncertain end in the first season.
The report follows a teasing image posted by the actress herself on Instagram last week. The star is seen pictured alongside David Harbour (who played Sheriff Hopper in the original series) and she not-so-cryptically captioned it, “Don't say a word! #s02 #strangerthings.”
A comeback for the character seemed likely after the final episode of season one, but doubt was cast after executive producers Matt and Ross Duffer appeared hesitant in an interview earlier this year. “We don't know about Eleven,” they told Variety. “We leave that up in the air.”
Brown will join confirmed returning cast members Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), Joe Keery (Steve), Noah Schnapp (Will), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler) and Winona Ryder (Joyce Myers) for the show's second season, which will air on Netflix in 2017.
