With the SS19 Supreme season just around the corner, the New York skate brand shared its first teaser last week, which hinted at more formalwear and a cycling collab. In addition to the official teaser, there have been several leaks suggesting the brand’s next Nike collaboration will be the Nike Air Max Tailwind 4.
Initially, Dayanne Akadiri of Supreme Paris shared an on-foot shot of a first black and blue colorway (below). Instagram’s @airrenny followed that up by sharing what looks to be a red and white version of the same sneaker (above).
Akadiri’s pair features a predominantly black upper with reflective detailing on the base of the upper and lace eyelets. An all-black midsole and Supreme branding on the tongue complete a very stealthy look. Renny’s, on the other hand, pairs a white-speckled red base with white overlays and Supreme branding on the tongue.
The Nike Air Max Tailwind 4 was originally released in 1999 and fits Supreme’s modus operandi of reaching into the Nike archive to revive obscure models. Most recently, Supreme helped Nike relaunch its Air Humara in late 2017.
Nothing is confirmed just yet, however, Supreme and Nike have upped their ongoing partnership to two collaborations a season, so we could well be looking at early teasers of the next Supreme x Nike collab.
