SZA may not have taken home any Grammys this year — don't get us started — but her debut studio album Ctrl was welcomed with high praise nonetheless. And while the 27-year-old singer-songwriter seemingly has her entire career ahead of her, she might be cutting it considerably short.
In a recent interview with Flaunt, SZA alluded to the fact that her next album could be her last.
“I’m still miserable,” she insisted. “My world got so much smaller so fast. I have so much to write about. I feel like I’m in a cage. I’m making the best album of my life for this next album and I know that… because it’s going to be my last album.”
It should be worthy of note, however, that SZA's comments were delivered with a grin, as per the interviewer, so we can only hope that she will continue to give us a number of projects in years to come.
Following the release of her stunning debut Ctrl last June, SZA was nominated for five Grammys, although she failed to win any awards.
