In a surprise move, Sunday saw Adult Swim treat fans to the long-anticipated season 3 premiere of Rick and Morty.

In the episode, protagonist Rick Sanchez (or Uncle Rick) made it his personal mission to find some McDonald's Szechuan sauce, which was released back in 1998 as a promotional condiment for Disney's Mulan.

Accordingly, fans have since lost their minds, with relics of the sauce popping up on eBay, along with petitions to bring it back.

While the Golden Arches has remained tight-lipped on any talk of a Szechuan comeback, YouTube chef Andrew Rea has taken matters into his own hands with a video demonstrating not one, but three tasty sauce recipes.

After taking us through a simple step-by-step guide, Rea pits the creations up against each other in a taste test, but are they good as the real thing? Find out by watching the video above.
