TAG Heuer has partnered with HODINKEE for a special limited edition release of the Heuer Carrera Skipper. Available exclusively online through HODINKEE, the project pays tribute to the Heuer Carrera Skipper reference 7754, which is one of the rarest vintage pieces with fewer than 20 watches known to exist.
The original Heuer Carrera Skipper reference 7754 was commissioned by Jack Heuer in 1967 to celebrate Mosbacher’s triumph skippering The Intrepid, as this particular timepiece commemorates the 50th anniversary of Emil Mosbacher’s victory at America’s Cup.
In maintaining the designs of the original reference 7754, the watch displays the signature tri-color regatta count-down, now calibrated on 10-minute intervals. The Carrera case then welcomes a vintage-inspired 39mm Glassbox showcasing the exact lugs of the 1960s models. The timepiece is ultimately powered through the automatic caliber 18 movement, featuring a date complication, positioned opposite to the regatta count-down on the dial.
Limited to 125 pieces, the Tag Heuer Carrera Skipper comes numbered, with three complementary straps, for $5,900 USD.
