Art book publisher Taschen is releasing a special set of tarot cards designed by Spanish Surrealist artist, Salvador Dalí. Dalí was originally commissioned by Live and Let Die producer Albert Broccoli to create a custom deck of tarot cards for the 1973 James Bond movie.
Dalí’s tarot cards were inspired by his wife, Gala. He was the first renowned painter to create a completely new set of cards, published in a limited art edition in 1984. Featuring 78 cards, the set draws from Western masterpieces, as well as Dalî’s hallucinogenic motifs.
Taschen is launching the Salvador Dalí tarot cards, complete with a booklet by German tarot author Johannes Fiebig, this Friday, November 15. You can pre-order the set now for $60.
