Despite what you see in Tessa Dixson‘s new video for “Ignited,” this 22-year-old is an artist that can’t be boxed in. The Belgian singer-songwriter makes moody alt-pop music that truly sounds like it came straight from the heart. Today, we’re premiering the visual for her latest single which emotes the “fine line between going your own way but still wanting to stay.” Dixson further explores that challenging duality in the video which was intentionally built around a vignette.

“I knew I wanted to incorporate works from students in fashion in Belgium,” she explained in an email. “We had envisioned a very Vanessa Beecroft vibe with the dancers and retro yet subtle colours and slowly the shots became exactly what we had In mind If not better. Ignited is my proudest visual work yet and there are still many interesting visual concepts yet to come.”

Dixson is currently signed to [PIAS]. Stay tuned for more material from this promising artist on the rise and watch the full video above.
