Since its debut on Disney Plus earlier this month, the new Star Wars live-action series The Mandalorian has dethroned Stranger Things as the most-streamed TV show in America. The move marks the end of Stranger Things' 21-week-run at the top, Business Insider reports.
According to findings from Parrot Analytics, The Mandalorian has had over 100 million "demand expressions" in the week between November 17 and November 23. Stranger Things, meanwhile, had 81 million during its run. It also tops Netflix's two other heavy-hitters, The Umbrella Academy and When They See Us.
In a quote obtained by BI, a Parrot Analytics representative said that, “While demand is a metric that should not be confused with subscriber numbers, this is a strong indication that the Star Wars series is driving a lot of sign-ups to the recently-debuted Disney+ service.”
